I think part of why I like this guy relates to his ability to step in and take the role of one of the most popular television and movie characters of our lifetime – Captain James T. Kirk from Star Trek. Let’s face it – filling the shoes of the original Captain Kirk (played by William Shatner) is no easy task!
Pine’s personal story is both interesting and inspirational. I posted about this recently at Psychcentral in a blog post entitled, Chris Pine has a secret. In the article, I explore the past of this Hollywood celebrity and assess how, at such a young age, he has been able to command such powerful success. One of his strengths appears to be his down to earth, “real” personality, which makes him very relatable (and likeable) to many fans.
Pine has had his share of problems in life. In March of 2014 for example, he was found guilty for driving while intoxicated (DUI) while filming the movie, Z for Zachariahin New Zealand. Looking at press reports on the incident, it appears he was very remorseful for the incident and has learned a major life lesson. I discuss this issue in some detail in the Psychcentral post and assess the five life lessons that we can learn from the star.
Behind the Hollywood glitz and glam of most celebs, there usually can be found a unique narrative that helps to inform us of the character of given actor. When you think about it, this is true for all people, including you. What is your life story? How have the past events of your life shaped you in the here and now? Can your life-challenges and adversities, particularly the pain, be used as a source of strength in the here and now? Can you use these same strengths in your relationships?
